Secured Barter Trade Scrip

Created when a trade credit arises, expires upon usage



Barter trade takes on a new life with the creation of a barter trade scrip – the Ubuntu- for cross -border trade. The Internet and computerization have blown to bits all its traditional claims of inefficiencies due to double coincidence of wants and nonfungibility of traded goods.

Usage

  1. It is not sold outright for cash by RECIPRO.
  2. It can only be obtained when goods are supplied on short-term credit not exceeding three months.
  3. To secure a scrip, the initial importer to a barter trade contract has to provide a bank guarantee for his export of compensatory goods.
  4. It expires upon completion of a barter trade contract.
  5. It is valued in US Dollars or any currency acceptable to the trading parties.
  6. The exchange rate used for the conversion of an accepted currency in a transaction are based on negotiated rates of the trade partners or at any other rate as approved by the relevant authorities.
  7. It is issued only when a barter trade transaction cannot be conducted simultaneously on a specific date.
  8. Acquired scrips can be exchanged once for cash, within the scrip holder’s country and not across borders.
  9. The final destination of a scrip shall be the initial importer, as per the barter trade contract entered and it expires upon usage.
  10. Its usage is subject, if any, to the regulations of participating traders’ nations.
